The Auburn Juniors had a 1-1 week, starting with a 6-3 loss to Plattsmouth, before defeating Nehawka by a margin of 11 runs to move to 12-8 on the year.
Griffin Sikora’s RBI-double in the first inning gave Auburn a 1-0 lead through the first four innings. Plattsmouth would score two runs in the top of the fifth, but Auburn would equalize it in the bottom of the inning to keep a 3-2 lead.
Plattsmouth forced extra innings with a tying run in the sixth, before adding three unanswered runs in the eighth inning to defeat Auburn 6-3.
On Sunday, Auburn would record 11 hits, while Hunter Bolin and Zane Carman held Nehawka to just one hit, leading to a large margin of victory for the Auburn Airstream Juniors.
Izac Hurst led the Auburn offense with four RBI on three hits in the win. Auburn was down 2-1 after two innings, but put up seven runs in the third inning and seven more runs between the next two innings to blow out Nehawka by a score pf 15-4 and draw even on the week.
